I can almost guarantee it's a bad motherboard since I had similar issues with my PC randomly crashing in the past and once I replaced the motherboard the issues went away.
I have an Asus board that uses a pretty decent utility, and I'm sure that Asrock, MSI, and Gigabyte, have similar programs as well. Sometimes it divulges little tidbits of helpful info that might suggest or point to what's going on. I don't know why I didn't think of zipping them, though. Usually, if there is a component going out, it's pretty much consistent and even reproducible.
