Does this happens if the system tried to boot up through the portable HDD drive? - what is the solution or how to increase teh booting speed to the normal one. This is your hard drive failing. If your external hard drive is more than 2TB it is probably formatted in GPT instead of standard MBR, which cannot be read by 32bit Operating Systems such as WIndows XP.
