Forum SolvedLaptop screen goes black - IE keeps freezing and won't show images in Yahoo email. I am getting BSOD and/or the computer randomly freeze or restart on its own. And I realized I'm not running Memtest86+ but rather Memtest86, does that matter? I didn't make any change to the computer before (didn't install new driver, didn't replace any hardware). check over here
The machine seems running when I push the power button (because it makes sounds), but on the monitor nothing is shown. But nothing is shown in the monitor, even after several minutes, as if the computer is turned off. Sometimes it will get back to normal for a bit but then it will normally start freezing up again. I have only tried twice though (going to try it again after work). I had a problem that was not detected in the Memory Diagnostics tool and was only detected in the Memtest86+ after four hours of stress test, after the second or third.testing
I'm trying to run memtest86 right now. The first step in troubleshooting is finding more specific error details. Register now! Trying to run memtest86 now. So this leaves the MOBO, CPU and PSU, I would assume CPU and PSU problems would show itself differently. Now that you know how Memtest actually works, it's important to know that the tests it goes through all mean something different.
